5 Mile Charity Run for OXSRAD

By 30th September 2016No Comments

Krissi Daly-Sadler, Shauny Brown, Ulen Neale, Tom Briggs and John O’Byrne made up a team from Ability House, Abingdon who ran 5 miles in Oxford aid of the Oxford & District Sports and Recreational Association for the Disabled (OXSRAD).

After a drizzly start it turned out to be ideal race conditions, although a little muggy towards the end of the race and the team were lucky to miss the downpour that arrived an hour or so after the finish.

Possibly our team may not have been the fastest in the race but they did win the cup for most money raised! So far the team have raised £450 towards a £500 target. One notable donation came from Amelie O’Byrne (age 4 months) who it is said had a persuasive word in her Grandfather’s ear which enabled her to sponsor her Father!

Oxford & District Sports and Recreational Association for the Disabled (OXSRAD) is a leisure centre located in North Oxford, which relies on grants and donations to be able to offer vital sporting services to all abilities.
