We have an exciting opportunity for a prosthetic technician to join our team in Cambridge. This is a fixed term contract of 12 months for maternity cover; however, the successful candidate will be well positioned to be considered for future permanent opportunities should they become available.
The Prosthetic and Orthotic service in Cambridge is based in a new, purposefully fitted out building with a motivated and friendly team of Clinicians, Administrators, and Technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct materials/components are issued for the task and that appropriate equipment and tools are available.
- Complete and maintain production and inspection records as required.
- Ensure adequate identification of work at all stages is maintained at all times.
- Comply with necessary Health and Safety standards, ensuring that the department always maintains a safe clean working environment.
- Work progressed against Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and maintain production and inspection records, signing off all jobs once completed within a specified manufacturing process.
- Ensure all work order documentation is accurately completed and accompanies the product through the production cycle, working within the Company Quality Framework.
- Assist and support the supervisory team in the identification of any quality problems and assist in providing effective solutions.
- Assist training and the development of newly recruited technicians and develop multi-skilling across production.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:

- Flexible and helpful attitude.
Desirable:
- Materials control or supply chain experience.
- Stock management, including use of IT systems.
- A sound working knowledge of IT systems: including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
