What is Raised Shoe?

Material, usually microcellular rubber, added to the sole unit of a suitable item of footwear. It may be included within the body of the shoes own sole and heel or stuck onto the bottom depending on the construction of the shoe.

What does it do?

It is used to compensate for a shortening of one leg relative to the other. This allows the hips to be level and reduces stress in the lower back and legs when walking.
