What is it?
Usually comprises a one piece elastic panel which wraps around the area of the lower back and is secured by a velcro strip and/or straps depending on the design. It will usually include semi-rigid struts.

What does it do?
It provides mild compession and support to the lower back and will also provide some thermal insulation (heat retention) which may be theraputically helpful.
