  • Provide support in patients’ homes, schools and community settings, as well as in our dedicated workshop.
  • Carry out basic programming and diagnostics on powered wheelchairs.
  • Check equipment before delivery or fitting to ensure it is safe, functional and ready for use, seeking guidance from senior clinical or technical colleagues where required.
  • Load and unload equipment safely and maintain appropriate van stock levels.
  • Complete accurate and timely service, repair and administration records to support the clinical and technical teams.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, carers, families, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency repair service.

  • Practical problem-solving skills and the confidence to use a range of basic tools safely.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • The ability to work independently, organise a mobile workload and ask for support when needed.
  • The ability to undertake the manual-handling requirements of the role safely, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • A positive approach to learning and developing new technical skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an engineering, mechanical, electrical, maintenance or other practical technical role.
  • Experience working with wheelchairs or other mobility or medical equipment in a technical capacity.

In addition, candidates must have:
