Reports to: Operations Director (matrix reporting to the Group Chief Commercial Officer)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join Proactive, a leading private prosthetics and orthotics provider.
For more than 25 years, Proactive has helped people reclaim their independence through exceptional prosthetic, orthotic and rehabilitation care, shaped by genuine compassion, clinical expertise and our promise of patient-crafted care.
Over the past three years we have grown significantly, expanding to five clinics across the UK. This growth has created an opportunity for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join our team and help shape the next stage of our journey.
Proactive is part of AM Healthcare Group (AMHG), a market-leading international healthcare products and services provider. AMHG operates primarily in areas that enhance mobility and accessibility, including orthotics, prosthetics and wheelchairs. It has more than 60 sites across the UK and Ireland, as well as operations in France, the Netherlands and Sweden, and employs more than 700 staff.
Job role summary
Proactive mainly treats patients going through personal injury claims after a traumatic accident or limb loss. Our patients are referred to us by the case manager, solicitor or insurer who is supporting the patient through their ongoing claim.
Due to our expansion we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our growth across private, medico-legal and third-sector markets. You’ll build a strong referral pipeline, widening our existing referrer network, developing new partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with case managers, solicitors, insurers, private healthcare providers and healthcare professionals. You’ll be the main point of contact for new prospective clients and partners, and you’ll raise awareness of Proactive’s services across the regions we serve. Working closely with our clinical and leadership teams, you’ll turn opportunities into lasting partnerships that help more people access our gold-standard prosthetic and orthotic services.
Having grown to five clinics, we now need someone to bring structure and coordination to our new-business activity. You’ll build and manage a single pipeline across the group of clinics, making sure every lead is followed through to conversion, helping Proactive grow as one integrated organisation rather than five clinics working independently. Success will be measured by growth in referral volumes and revenue, pipeline conversion, and customer retention and satisfaction.
This is a role you’ll have the freedom to shape. We need someone with the experience to tailor the approach to our industry and existing referrers, while always looking for new ways to grow.
We’re looking for someone who combines commercial drive with a genuine passion for improving people’s lives: someone who builds trust easily, thinks strategically, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while supporting exceptional patient care.
