Achilles Tendonitis

What is Achilles Tendonitis?

An inflammatory condition of the achilles tendon caused by over stretching or over use and tightness in the calf muscle and tendon itself.

Symptoms

Pain and inflammation around the back of the ankle, lower calf and heel. Symptoms tend to be worse after prolonged periods of activity or over use.

Treatments

• Heel lift to reduce strain on the tendon by reducing the stretch or pull on it.

• Insoles to reduce over pronation in the foot.

• Night split to stretch the tendon.
