We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Prosthetist to join our team in Roehampton as Clinical Lead Prosthetist.
This role will involve working with a complex clinical caseload, so strong clinical expertise in at least one area of prosthetics is essential. There will also be opportunities to develop across additional specialist areas. The post holder will play a key role in leading the Prosthetics Clinical Team, supporting the technical team, and collaborating with the wider NHS multidisciplinary team (MDT) to advance and continually improve service delivery.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Opcare Clinical Management Team, providing leadership, mentoring and professional support to prosthetists, graduates and students. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop both clinical and managerial skills while making a meaningful contribution to a high-quality patient service.

Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and line management for the Prosthetics Clinical Team.
- Support delivery of the service in line with NHS contractual requirements, internal standards and agreed key performance indicators.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and patient-centred care, supporting the smooth running of the service.
- Work closely with MDTs across Roehampton and the wider Trust, including surgeons, consultants and allied health professionals.
- Provide clinical support, guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues, graduates and students.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, risk management and service development activity.
- Coordinate and contribute to in-service training sessions, supporting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Proven practical experience working successfully as a Prosthetist.
- Strong commitment to the highest standards of patient care, safety and professionalism.
- Experience of working effectively within high-performing clinical teams.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership, support colleagues and contribute to service improvement.
- Positive, proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, NHS partners and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Previous management, supervision or mentoring experience.
- Experience contributing to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement or service development.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold one of the following qualifications:
- Certified Prosthetist
- HND Prosthetics
- BSc Prosthetics
In addition, candidates must have:
- Full HCPC registration.
- The ability to meet the requirements of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
