Job Summary:
As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development and testing of prosthetic and orthotic (P&O) devices. You will be responsible for conceptualising, designing and developing innovative solutions for patients. This role is a hybrid of design, engineering and medical sciences, meaning you will be required to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including clinicians, design and manufacturing engineers and quality specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct extensive research in the P&O field.
• Develop design concepts based on both user and clinical requirements.
• Develop designs that are functional and aesthetically pleasing whilst considering manufacturing efficiency.
• Develop prototypes using CAD software and physical modelling techniques.
• Collaborate with engineers and clinical specialists to conduct usability and functionality testing.
• Iterate designs based on feedback from test results, clinicians, users and manufacturing teams.
• Present design work to cross-functional teams and stakeholders for review and approval.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining organisation and keeping to timelines.
• Focus on designing cost-effective solutions that are accessible to a broader patient base without compromising quality.
• Maintain detailed records of research, design iteration and testing results and generate comprehensive reports to support product development.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in 3D printing technology, materials and manufacturing processes to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the company.

Qualifications:
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or Design Engineering. We will also consider Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software. Experience in Fusion 360 is preferred.
Additional Considerations:
Familiarity with ISO regulations for medical devices.
