Opcare has been providing Prosthetic and Orthotic services to the NHS Manchester Foundation Trust for over 15 years. The services are located in the Specialised Ability Centre Manchester, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Trafford General Hospital.
We work in conjunction with a consultant led multi-disciplinary team, to deliver excellent services to over 2,500 patients. There is a complex mix of patients who attend the MDT and extended practice clinics, which presents opportunities to be involved in a wide and varied remit.
At the Manchester Centre there is a large on-site workshop where our highly skilled teams provide a collaborative working approach to patient device design and manufacture. We work together to support the patients and make a real difference to people’s lives.
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Support Senior Administrator who is looking for an opportunity to develop their career and be a part of our large and dynamic team in Manchester.
The role holder will have the responsibility to support the centre manager in reporting operational performance across the prosthetic and orthotic services, as well as overseeing the fabrication, repair and maintenance of medical devices within the workshop environment when required. This is a hybrid role in supporting the centre manager in the running of the prosthetic and orthotic services to ensure that it achieves both strategic and operational goals, KPIs, and operates within financial budgets & targets – as well as overseeing the workshop during periods of annual leave.
Key Responsibilities:
Some of the key responsibilities the role holder will have responsibility for:
- Report weekly and/or monthly to the Centre Manager on the below and any additional metrics on request:
- KPI’s – noting any potential breaches and how these are being negated
- Work in Progress (open orders)
- Stock management
- Local workshop performance – quality, lead times
- Evaluate prosthetic and Orthotic service performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics and utilise this data to identify areas for improvement and implement these improvements.
- Support Management with audits/inspections/surveys that need completing within a timely manner, along with any remedial works and other planned maintenance which may be required with support of the on-site FM and Group FM, to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
- Support management of external facilities contractors, attend monthly/annual audits; liaise with contract managers as and when required
When required to cover the workshop:
- Support the centre manager in overseeing the preparation and assembly / building of medical devices, onsite repairs, production control & workload planning to ensure production meets all KPIs and quality measures and is provided within centre contractual requirements.
- The role will support the Centre Manager in all elements of ISO procedures / quality assurance and Health & Safety requirements – to assist in ensuring manufacturing activities are undertaken in compliance to company / site H&S and Quality procedures & regulations.
- Plan, prioritise and allocate workloads across the workshop team.
- Support with management of the technical team and lead by example to create a productive efficient team environment.
The role will be instrumental in helping to develop and implement service improvements for the betterment of patients in Manchester.
